Nostradamus and the London bombings
By Peter Lemesurier as posted on alt.prophecies.nostradamus 7/7/2005
Q. Did Nostradamus predict the recent London bombings?
A. Certainly not.
If he had done, somebody would have pointed it out
beforehand (rather than
merely claiming retrospectively that they did,
that is).
As for
quatrain II.51, the same bloodthirsty doom-mongers who will now
try and
convince you that it does indeed apply to the bombings have
hitherto insisted
that it is actually about the Great Fire of London
of 1666 (even though in
fact it isn't), so they can't very well have
it both ways, can
they?
Meanwhile, for those who are actually interested in this
verse:
II.51. Original 1555 text
Le sang du juste à Londres fera
faute
Bruslés par fouldres de vingt trois les six.
La dame antique cherra
de place haute:
De mesme secte plusieurs seront occis.
Read as modern
French:
Touchés par
excommunications/anathèmes
tombera
tués
No just blood they shall
spill in London town:
Anathemas singe six times twenty three.
The ancient
dame from high shall tumble down.
Of that same sect shall many murdered
be.
Source: The celebrated 'Affair of the Templars' of 1307 to 1314,
in
the course of which 138 (i.e. 6 x 23) French Templars were accused
of
heresy and unnatural practices, many of them being tortured and
burned
alive, whereas, by contrast, those arrested in England were
neither
tortured nor condemned. The French trials, meanwhile, were
interrupted
by the appearance of various heretical sects, and in particular
of an
Englishwoman who claimed to be inspired by the Holy Spirit
[Prévost]:
needless to say, she was burned, too.
